How many treatments are needed?
It depends on how serious the symptoms are. It is up to our physician and the information gathered at your consultation to determine exactly how many treatments you will actually need. The normal recommendation is 3 treatments, 40-60 days apart, followed by ONE annual maintenance treatment.
How is the recovery?
Most women report slight localized discomfort following the laser treatment and during the first few days after the session. Most women resume their normal routine after one to three days. You CAN drive yourself home after the procedure. During the healing period, it is recommended to avoid lifting weights or some activities, such as taking a hot bath, or physical exercise. How long do the effects of the treatment last?
The results are almost immediate, even after ONE treatment, Results improve over subsequent months. It does take 6 months to build collagen. The regeneration process that this laser triggers lasts 6-12 months — after which it is advisable to repeat the treatment.
Are there any contraindications?
No pregnant, nursing or non-nursing postpartum patients up to 3 months. There is no exclusion criteria for MonaLisa Touch ®, other than those related to serious local or systemic diseases. How soon can I resume sexual activity?
We usually recommend 48 hours of rest before resuming intercourse for those who DO NOT have the external laser treatment done. Please wait 7 days before resume sexual activity when the external laser treatment is performed.
