In combination with your HydraFacial® treatment, lymphatic drainage works to improve circulation, as well as detoxify, tone, and firm skin. 33% of the lymphatic system is in the face. Gentle lymphatic massage can stimulate the opening of the lymphatic system, increase lymph flow, and assist in the drainage of stagnant cellular fluid and released toxins. Through the elimination of toxins, and promotion of insured nourishment, the skin achieves balance, resulting in a cleaner complexion and improved skin tone and color. Other benefits of lymphatic drainage include a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles due to dehydration, as well as a reduction of puffy skin (edema) and swelling. HydraFacial is an invigorating treatment that can be given in as little as 30 minutes. It delivers long-term skin health and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of all skin types. The HydraFacial treatment removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing serums. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective.

Why is HydraFacial good for my skin?

Hydration is the foundation of healthy, youthful and radiant skin. Irritation of the skin has been proven to increase signs of aging. The HydraFacial is a hydrating and non-irritating treatment.

The HydraFacial treatment is designed for all skin types. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates the HydraFacial treatment. How long does the treatment take? Is there any downtime or pain involved?

Our goal is to help support you in a balanced lifestyle. That’s why HydraFacial is a fast, efficient treatment that takes as little as 30 minutes. You may put on make-up and return to your normal activities right after the treatment since there is no downtime.

What results may be expected? How many treatments are needed to see results? How long do the results last?

Many clients report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. The smooth results and hydration may last 5 to 7 days or even longer. We don’t believe in quick fixes, so one treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, oily and congested skin. Continued HydraFacial treatments are highly recommended to maintain skin health results.

How can I get even more results from a HydraFacial?

The DermaBuilder is a Vortex-Booster™ that helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin firmness, skin tone and skin texture. This booster is applied only on fine lines and wrinkles.

The DermaBuilder is a complex of peptides that helps to repair and improve the skin health by stimulating fibroblast (cells that make collagen) and broad-spectrum collagen/elastin proteins. DermaBuilder peptide complex targets the new skin that is exposed during the HydroPeel® exfoliation process. There are two types of natural peptide groups in the ingredients. One peptide group mimics Botox® by blocking the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine from activating the nerve junction, therefore reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines caused by muscle contractions in facial expression, especially on the forehead and around the eyes. The other peptide group stimulates the fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin where fine lines and wrinkles form at the Epidermal-Dermal Junction. The results are enhanced skin elasticity, texture and firmness.

LED light has been shown to stimulate the production of collagen in the body which, in turn, helps to give skin a more full, tight look. By increasing the amount of collagen in the skin, LED light therapy can help to remove wrinkles, improve the appearance of age spots, minimize the appearance of scars, and help heal minor wounds. While this may sound like something out of science fiction, there is actually some well-documented science behind it. LEDs, or light emitting diodes, are able to transmit specific light frequencies and are used to produce either red light or blue light. Both of these frequencies help to stimulate the production of collagen, however, the different light frequencies accomplish different tasks.

Red LEDs: Used to treat wrinkles, rosacea, and sun damage. This helps to improve the overall uniformity of a person’s skin and gives the patient a healthy glow. Additionally, red LEDs help to reduce the appearance of scars and broken capillaries.

Blue LEDs:Used to treat blemishes, acne and other facial afflictions that are caused from clogged pores. Some studies, although they remain unproven, even suggest that blue LEDs may be effective for treating skin cancer.

By exposing your skin to LED lights after it has been thoroughly cleansed and rejuvenated, your face will naturally be more receptive to the frequencies of the LED lights which will, in turn, allow your skin to more easily produce collagen.

Are There Any Other Benefits to LED Collagen Stimulation?

While the most obvious benefit of LED light therapy is that it helps to stimulate collagen production, there are many more positive aspects to this particular type of therapy. These additional benefits include:

Before your treatment:

Discontinue use of Isotretinoin (Accutane) for 6 months
Discontinue use of topical prescriptive medications for 48 hrs (Retin-A, Tazorac, Differin,
EpiDuo, Ziana)
Refrain from any type of exfoliating treatment(s) (glycolic acid, enzymes) to the area of treatment for 48 hrs
Refrain from any medium / deep chemical resurfacing and laser treatments for 1 month
Refrain from waxing and use of depilatories for 48 hours
Discontinue use of OTC acne medications (Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylicate) for 48 hours
If you are prone to cold sores, HydraFacial may cause a break out; ask your doctor for a
prophylactic treatment such as Valtrex. Please use medication 2 days before, during and 2 days after.
Avoid sun tanning or tanning creams/sprays for at least 72 hours
Post injections (Botox, Juvéderm) wait at least 2 weeks. Botox at least 5 days
For Gentlemen’s HydraFacial treatment, shaving is not recommended on day of
treatment. If you choose to shave, please shave at least 3-4 hours prior to your treatment
On the FIRST day of your appointment, a full consultation will be performed
If you have any special
health considerations, allergies, are currently pregnant, etc., be sure to notify us when you make your appointment
However, feel free to contact us with your concerns if in doubt about whether you are a candidate for this treatment

After your treatment:

Avoid sunbathing for at least 48 hours (although, we recommend this indefinitely) to prevent UV rays from damaging your skin which slows down the benefits of HydraFacial
Patients who absolutely cannot avoid sun exposure should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to maintain your improved skin
Injections can be resumed in 24 hours or as advised by Dr. Mai
Waxing and depilatories can be resumed in 48 hours
Avoid heat (hot showers, sauna, and intense cardio) for 24 hours
If you do not need make-up for the evening of treatment, wait until the next morning
Topical prescriptive medications can be resumed in 48 hours
OTC acne medications may be resumed in 48 hours
