In order to increase the diversity of our community and create a stronger sense of belonging for everyone, we are continuing to improve our recruiting approach for students and search process for faculty and staff, to adjust our curriculum and pedagogy (including new courses this year on LGBTQ issues and on gender and employment policy), and to make other changes recommended by a School task force in 2017. And, as an additional example, our faculty member Dan Levy was recently awarded a grant by the Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching to build out Teachly, a tool that he and a former teaching assistant developed to track classroom participation in order to create a more personalized learning experience.
